PANAJI: Power Minister Ramkrishna alias Sudin Dhavalikar has said that collective efforts towards environmental cleanliness, better access to education and quality infrastructure at the grassroots level can play a crucial role in achieving the vision of a prosperous and self-reliant India.
Speaking at Quepem in the newly declared Kushavati District, Dhavalikar said cooperation between citizens and the government could create a stronger foundation for sustainable development and contribute to the vision of a “Samruddh Bharat”.
The Minister stressed that responsible citizenship and constructive contribution to society were essential for the country’s progress. He said development should not be limited to government initiatives but should also involve active participation from citizens at the grassroots level.
Dhavalikar highlighted the progress achieved by the country across various sectors since Independence and also pointed to the development initiatives undertaken by the Goa government under Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant.
The Minister also expressed his happiness at being the first Minister to unfurl the national flag at the newly declared Kushavati District.
Collector of Kushavati District Gurudas Dessai, Superintendent of Police Ashish Shirodkar, Deputy Collector Amitesh Shirvoikar, Mamlatdar Nathan Afonso and other officials were present.
Students from schools in the vicinity presented cultural performances as part of the programme.
