PANAJI: Goa University (GU) today has finally agreed to give marks/credits to those students who had volunteered for the national games.
Aldona MLA Advocate Carlos Ferreira had warned Goa University of criminal action for its failure to grant marks/credits to students for volunteering at the National Games.
“Upon desperate pleas by college students who had not been given marks/credits for volunteering at the National Games, despite Circular by Registrar, Goa University, by claiming that GU was governed by Statutes,” said Ferreira
He further said that he has personally called up the Registrar & made it clear that this would be a clear case of cheating and those responsible for would be held liable for criminal action.
“The Registrar got back to me and assured me that I had discussed the matter with VC. We will do needful as per the circular and issue a revised result. Issue resolved. GU finally agrees to give marks/credits for the national games,” he added.
The MLA said that they must not play with the futures of our youth who have toiled to give their best for the National Games.
