CANACONA: Tribal Welfare Minister Ramesh Tawadkar handed over the keys of a newly constructed house to a beneficiary family at Talem, Gaondongrim, under the Shram-Dham initiative of the Balram Charitable Trust.
Tawadkar inaugurated the house and formally handed over the keys to Savita Velip, who lives with her two children. The ceremony marked the completion of another dwelling constructed under the initiative for families unable to afford a house of their own.
Speaking on the occasion, Tawadkar said he was pleased to hand over the newly built home and described the project as an example of collective community participation.
He said the Shram-Dham initiative is based on the principle of Shramdaan, bringing together voluntary labour, community support and collective efforts to provide deserving families with safe and dignified housing.
“This house stands as a beautiful example of what we can achieve when a community comes together with compassion and commitment. Together, we build not just homes, but also hope,” Tawadkar said.
The Balram Charitable Trust, run by Tawadkar, undertakes the construction of homes for needy families who face financial difficulties in building their own permanent houses.
The newly completed house at Talem adds to the initiative’s efforts to support families in need through community-driven construction and assistance.
