The Communidade de Guirim has written to the North Goa Planning and Development Authority objecting to the Land use map of Mapusa Planning Area.
The letter shot by President Tulio de Sousa states, “On perusal of the above referred Map, we here by object to the following Survey nos. 41, 42, 43, 44 & 48 from the revenue Village of Guirim, being included in the Mapusa planning area.”
It further says, these survey numbers are agricultural fields mostly belonging to the Comunidade and are to be retained as green cultivable areas.
“We also request you to show Chalta no. 10 of P Sheet. 124, where a heritage building belonging to the Administrator of Comunidades, North Zone, Bardez is located, to be shown as a conservation zone,” the letter demanded.
Speaking to goemkarponn.com de Sousa said that the portion of Guirim village, actually paddy fields, belonging to communidade has been addled to Mapusa Planning Area.
After doing all this, he says, this government talks about reviving agriculture in Goa.
