BICHOLIM: A hit-and-run case has been registered after a 41-year-old cable technician sustained injuries in a road accident near Indian Overseas Bank at Muslimwada in Bicholim.
According to police, the complainant, Maleshi Talwar, a resident of Vathadev-Sarvan, stated that the incident occurred on May 3 at around 6:20 pm. A red Maruti Suzuki Swift car, allegedly driven in a rash and negligent manner, collided with his grey Honda Activa scooter (GA-04-R-8231) while he was heading towards Bicholim market from the Sanquelim side.
Due to the impact, Talwar fell onto the road and suffered bodily injuries. He was later shifted to CHC Bicholim for treatment. The accused driver reportedly fled the scene towards Assonora without offering assistance or informing the police.
During the course of investigation, police have identified and recovered the vehicle involved in the accident, a red Maruti Suzuki Swift (GA-04-H-1654). Further investigation is being carried out by HC Sakharam Raut.
