OLD GOA: On Sunday night, a hit-and-run accident at the Kadamba plateau in Chimbel resulted in the death of a worker.
The laborer Harlaal Murmu (29) of West Bengal was crossing the road when he was struck and run over by a four-wheeler, instantly killing him.
The four-wheeler, which was headed toward Panaji, reportedly did a U-turn and went towards the Ponda side, according to eyewitness reports.
“A person on a bullet motorcycle then chased the four-wheeler and was able to get its registration number, which has been shared with the Old Goa police,” an eyewitness claimed.
Meanwhile, Goa Police has intercepted a Karnataka registered vehicle at Mollem check post involved in accident.
Police said that vehicle has been seized and investigation into the matter is on.
