PONDA: the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav (75th Independence Day) celebration for three days is over, but the Indian flag is still seen hoisted on some houses and vehicles.
Citizens in Ponda are upset that though India’s Independence day celebration is over and many people have removed and kept it safely, some people forgot to remove it.
Though these people have no bad intentions, Pondaitees says to protect the integrity of Tiranga, once again Government should remind people to remove it and keep it safe at home.
It may be recalled that in response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal to install Har Gar Tiranga on the occasion of the Amrit Mahotsav Celebration of India’s Independence. Several people hoisted the Tiranga from 13 to 15 August; however, though many people honourably removed the Tiranga and kept it safely in their houses, some people have forgotten to remove it, and now almost two days passed after they failed to remove it.
The alert citizen Sandeep Parkar at Khandepar said though the Government had given guidelines, few people unaware of it had hoisted the flag in a leaned manner instead of straight on their houses. In some places, local politicians had distributed the flags free in their constituency, and at least they should direct their party workers to collect those flags or ask people to remove them and keep them safe at home.
Similarly, Viraj Sapre at Ponda said. The Government should again urge the people to remove their flag and keep it safely in their homes.
Viraj said when he was moving to Ponda City, he noticed flags on houses/flats at some places. Unknowingly they have done this. However, responsible people, including Government, Deputy Collector, and Mamlatdar, should create awareness for the removal of flags. Viraj further said that even some vehicles are seen moving with National flags installed.
