PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that State Government has no direct control over the online sites/portals through which illegal casino operations are being carried out.
“The State Government has no direct control over the online sites/portals through which illegal casino operations are being carried out. The exact number of such illegal casinos operating cannot be ascertained,” said Sawant.
He further said that, the Police Department has been directed to monitor such online sites to prevent any illegal casino operations from being operated within the State.
Sawant said that Intelligence is collected and informants are deployed to find out persons indulging in such illegal casinos.
“Intelligence channels have been activated and raid would be conducted on receiving specific inputs. Whenever any person is found involved in any illegal activities, action as per appropriate section of Law is initiated,” he added
Sawant also said that no case has been registered on computer based illegal casinos.
