MAPUSA: Colvale police today arrested one Dipendu Chaudhary R/o Mushir Wado, Colvale, Bardez – Goa, in connection with illegal storing and distribution of Gutkha in various areas in Goa.
SDPO Jivba Dalvi received information from reliable sources that one person has stored Gutkha at Mushirwado, Colvale, which is being distributed around Goa.
Accordingly, a raiding team was formed with PI Somnath Mahajik, PSI Sushant Sangodkar, Head Constable Sitaram Chodankar, constables Rama Naik, Sudhir Parab and PC Sudesh Naik.
The stored Gutkha was seized and found to be worth Rs. 2,80,000/
An offence under section 87(f) of the Goa Health Act has been registered.
Further investigation is in progress under the supervision of SP north Shobit Saxena IPS, SDPO Jivba Dalvi and PI Somnath Mahajik.
