PANAJI” After a prolonged weak monsoon, there is a possibility of heavy showers in the state. Goa IMD has issued a yellow alert in the state for next four days.
“Heavy rainfall is very likely at isolated places on Sept 6 to Sept 9”, says IMD.
There is as good as no rainfall recorded in Goa in the last one week and the maximum temperature in the state continues to remain 1 to 2 degrees higher than normal.
The cumulative rainfall in the state this season is almost stagnant at 2771 mm (109 inch).
Light/moderate over the Konkan and Goa during September 3–7, and over Madhya Maharashtra and the Marathwada during September 5–7, there is a fair chance of widespread to widespread showers, thunderstorms, and lightning with isolated heavy rains.
Assam and Meghalaya, as well as Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura expected to have moderate rainfall/thunderstorm activity on September 3 and on September 6–7.
