PANAJI: According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Goa is expected to get mild to moderate rainfall between December 2 and December 4.
According to the IMD on Friday, a deep depression that has formed in the southwest Bay of Bengal is directly responsible for the anticipated rain. A few locations in the districts of North and South Goa are probably going to be impacted by the rain.
Residents have been encouraged by the local authorities to take preventative precautions, stay updated on traffic warnings, stay away from properties that could be damaged, and be ready to evacuate low-lying regions if needed. The India Meteorological Department advises avoiding travel during periods of heavy rains, staying inside, and unplugging electrical devices.
Animal owners have been warned not to let their animals graze in open areas, while farmers have been warned to halt farming activities when it rains.
The IMD predicts that by Saturday, the deep depression will have developed into a complete cyclonic storm. Between Karaikal and Mahabalipuram, the system is predicted to continue northwest and land on Saturday afternoon, passing close to Puducherry along the north Tamil Nadu-Puducherry coastline.
