The theme of 77th anniversary of Independence day is ‘ Nation first , Always first” which devised with Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. This is an initiative of the Government of India to celebrate and commemorate seventy six years of freedom and to enlighten the glorious history of people, Indian Culture and much more achievements. Some campaigns are also launched by the Central Government as a mark of celebrating this special occasion. The second edition of Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign to motivate people to fly tricolour flag at their homes, offices and work places. The Meri Mati Mera Desh Campaign is embarked as an initiative to honour Martyrs across the country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has put forth “Panch Pran” theme for India 2.0 which comprises women and children, tribal empowerment, water, cultural pride, lifestyle for environment, health and wellness inclusive development, Atmanirbhar Bharat and unity.
Independence day is a day to exhibit pride, unity and integrity among all Indians. For almost 200 years India was reigned by British miserably. British established colonial rule on Indians and treated them as slaves. During midnight of 15 August 1947, a light at the end of the tunnel struck when Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru unfurled the national flag at Red fort and hoisted tricolour.
Many freedom fighters have struggled so much and sacrificed themselves for the sake of common people. and the nation to get independence from colonialism. Lakhs of people were shredded from terror of the British.
India is proud to be the largest democratic country in the world where power lies in the hands of the common man. Thanks to the enormous efforts and struggles of the freedom fighters democratic power and freedom that we enjoy today.
All Indians should abide by the principles of unity in Diversity which is the key strength and morale of the nation. Though Indians differ in their languages, religion and cultural values the word Indian united them and makes them feel like one nation. By celebrating Independence day a festivity of brotherhood develops in the 1.4 billion countrymen and many more overseas as we march on the path of peace and prosperity.
To instill the feeling of patriotism in the hearts of people and a sense of pride for the journey of India the Department of Posts has taken the campaign of Tiranga festival to be launched throughout the country. After immense success in the year 2022, as many as 23 crores households hoisted the Tiranga at their homes physically and 6 crores people uploaded selfies on websites.
The Dept of posts took the campaign to the last mile and ensured the availability of national flag in the remotest corner of the country. To continue the creative zeal and patriotism the Government is organising Har Ghar Tiranga between 13 to 15 August, 2023. It has been decided to leverage the best physical network of 16 lakhs post offices in the country to ensure sale of flags. This will be true Jan bhagidari to connect citizens to this programme of national importance. Social media too will play a great role in this task of nation building.
