MUMBAI:
The National Anti-Doping Agency has successfully concluded its Play True Campaign, which aimed to promote anti-doping practices and raise awareness about the importance of clean sports in India.
The campaign was part of the World Anti-Doping Agency’s efforts to fight against doping in sports. Held from 15 to 30 April 2024, it aimed to educate athletes and officials about the harmful effects of doping and to promote safe and ethical competition.
The interactive activities of the campaign included an online quiz, pledge, and a mascot drawing competition, designed to engage participants and foster a culture of clean and ethical competition.
The campaign also featured insightful awareness sessions covering all aspects of anti-doping regulations, including the consequences of doping in sports, understanding supplements, and the role of law enforcement.
The sessions were tailored for athlete support personnel, medical practitioners, educators, legal persons, and nutritional supplement manufacturers, ensuring comprehensive coverage across the sports ecosystem.
It is hoped that this campaign will strengthen the integrity of the country’s sporting community and help in establishing a robust anti-doping framework ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympics.
