MARGAO: After videos were posted on Social Media by the local kiosk owners exposing the illegal activities of prostitution and menace caused by drunkards at the compounded area of South Western Railway, Margao MLA & Leader of Opposition Digambar Kamat visited the Margao Station Road today.
The Margao MLA called local Police Inspector Sachin Narvenkar and Mamaltdar Prataprao Gaonkar at the site after hearing the grivances of the locals and kisosk owners and carried out inspection of the area, specailly the compound of South Western Railway at the Old Railway Station site.
Local Councillors Damodar Naik and Manoj Masurkar were also present during the inspection visit.
Margao MLA Digambar Kamat contacted Collector over phone and has fixed a meeting today at 2 pm with all the concerned department officials to discuss and decide on steps to be taken to stop the illegeal activities.
The issue of Homeless and Beggars will be also taken up during the meeting with Collector of South Goa today.
