PANAJI: Industries Minister Vishwajit Rane said country’s first Konkan Maritime Cluster for ship designers and marine equipments will be established in the State
“The Government has taken efforts to set up a new Maritime Cluster as below: The Konkan Maritime Cluster is approved on the basis of 74% Share of the Central Government. 10% of the State of Goa and 16% from the Special Purpose Vehicle contribution (SPV). Grants-in-Aid from GOI is Rs. 1200.00 lakhs, Grants-in-Aid from State is Rs.150.00 lakhs SPV contribution is Rs.271.57 lakhs Total Rs. 1621.57 lakhs,” said Rane
He further said that the Common Facility Centre (CFC) for Konkan Maritime Cluster at Verna, South Goa isunder, the scheme of MSE CDP of Ministry of Micro Small & Medium Enterprises, Government of India, New Delhi.
Minister said that Common Facility Centre(CFC) in cashew nuts cluster at Morpirla, Quepem-Goa, the Ministry of Micro Small & Medium Enterprises, Government of India, New Delhi. The cashew cluster is already set up at Quepem Industrial Estate in the year 2013.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that the government aims to create world class facilities for ship designers and builders, repairers and marine equipments manufacturers.
“This will envisage major employment generation in our State,The proposed common facility centre for Konkan Maritime Cluster will be set up at the Verna industrial estate,” CM had said
