PANAJI: Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) today said that light to moderate rain or thunderstorms are very likely to affect at a few places over North and South Goa districts.
IMD forecasts say that Clouds are present over Salcette, Ponda, Mormugao, Tiswadi, Bardez and Pernem Talukas, more talukas of South and North Goa districts are likely to get affected since they are generally moving towards north-westerly direction, stated the nowcast.
IMD Goa has also asked citizens to avoid working in open areas and fields while thunderstorms are taking place.
“Avoid taking shelter under tall trees and structures when thunderstorm is taking place. Stay away from electric poles and weak structures when lightning and gusty winds are there. Avoid using electrical appliances,” IMD further added.
