PANJIM: Slamming opposition over their charges with regards to governments failure to curb drug menace, Minister for Waste Management Micheal Lobo today said that the raid on rave party itself shows govt seriousness towards the issue.
“The Opposition is claiming that government not acting strictly on the drug menace but here the raid was conducted that means that the government and police are acting tough. I will speak to SP North and Crime Branch to congratulate them.” said Lobo reacting to the Vagator raid
He said, “Raids should continue, we should not tolerate any drugs and such rave parties in Goa. A review of the police inspectors in the coastal belt are already taking place by the Chief Minister.”
Lobo further admitted that rave parties are happening in in the coastal belt villas in the name of birthday parties and other functions.
“There are guest houses and resorts which are shut for general public but such rave parties are organaised there in name of some function. Its sad to see that drugs are being sold. The government is very serious in curbing such activies” Lobo added
He further said that he agrees with Palyekar that the parties are taking place and that he would take information from MLA about such parties.
Meanwhile, Goa Forward MLA Vinod Palyekar today alleged that government is in the drugs business and that rave parties are being held across the coast belt.
