PANAJI: Ravindra Chavan, Minister for PWD, Food and Public Distribution and Consumer Protection, Government of Maharashtra, received a warm welcome from the Government of Goa during his visit to Secretariat Complex in connection with the workshop on Swayampurna Goa, Programme of Government of Goa today.
Eknath Dhavale, IAS, Principal Secretary, Agriculture, Vinayak Patrudkar, OSD to Chief Minister, Ms Priya Khan, OSD to Dy. Chief Minister, Government of Maharashtra, were part of the delegation led by the Minister for PWD.
Nilesh Cabral, Minister for PWD, Government of Goa, Vijay B. Saxena, Director, Directorate of Planning, Statistics & Evaluation, DPSE, Smt Isha Sawant, State Co-ordinator, Swayampurna Goa Programme, SGP and Under Secretary to Chief Minister and Smt. Asha Sambary, Dy. Director, DPSE, Taluka Nodal Officers, SGP and Swayampurna Mitras, SGP, Government of Goa were present.
Vijay B. Saxena, Director, DPSE, welcomed the Ministers and other dignitaries. During the workshop, the Director of DPSE made a Powerpoint presentation about the Swayampurna Goa Programme.
During the presentation, the delegation was made aware of the functioning and implementation of the Swayampurna Goa Programme. Also, the achievements done under the programme were highlighted.
A few Taluka Nodal Officers and Swayampurna Mitras under the programme shared their unique initiatives and success stories under the programme.
While interacting, the Principal Secretary (Agriculture) Government of Maharashtra thanked the Government of Goa for making a full informative presentation on SGP. He shared a few activities undertaken by the Government of Maharashtra on similar lines and expressed his views that the SGP can certainly be implemented in Maharashtra.
