CORLIM: A 37-year-old man was arrested after 426 grams of suspected ganja, valued at approximately ₹40,000, was seized during a narcotics raid conducted at Calvaddo, Corlim, Tiswadi, on the evening of June 11, 2026.
According to a complaint filed on behalf of the State by Diptaraj T. Gaude, a Police Sub-Inspector, the raid was carried out at around 7:20 pm on an internal road at Calvaddo following reliable and specific information.
During the operation, the accused, Deshpal Gangadhar Morje, 37, a resident of Dhauji Road near Shantadurga Sawmill, Old Goa, was allegedly found in illegal possession of 426 grams of a greenish leafy substance with flowering and fruiting tops, suspected to be ganja.
The seized contraband is estimated to be worth ₹40,000. A case has been registered under the relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, and further investigation is being carried out by PSI Sanket S. Pokhare of Old Goa Police Station.
