PANAJI: A devastating fire broke out at Devendra Chari’s residence in Cansa Bhat, Thivim, near Zambleshwar Temple, in the afternoon, completely reducing the house to ashes.
The fire, which erupted around 2:00 pm, caused losses estimated at over ₹20 lakh, including gold ornaments worth ₹15 lakh, furniture, legal documents, and electronic appliances.
The Mapusa fire brigade, with the help of neighbors, controlled the blaze.
Former MLA Kiran Kandolkar, Panch member Michele Fernandez, and ex-Sarpanch Kambli visited the family in the evening, appealing to the CM and panchayat for financial assistance.
