PANAJI: With retroactive effect starting on December 1, 2024, the State government increased the midday meal prices paid to self-help groups by 0.75 paisa per student for pre-primary and primary school students and Rs 1.12 paisa per student for upper primary school students.
According to the updated rates, self-help groups and Parent-Teacher Associations (PTAs) will receive Rs 11.12 for upper primary students and Rs 8.75 for pre-primary and elementary students, respectively.
Director of Education Shailesh Zingade stated in a circular that the new rates, which will take effect on December 1, 2024, will apply to all Parent-Teacher Associations and self-help groups that provide midday meals to all government and government-aided pre-, primary, and upper-primary students under the POSHAN scheme.
The menu, amount, calories, and other details will not change, according to Zingade.
