PANAJI: BJP is now at loggerheads with its MLAs over accepting support from the MGP to form the next state government in Goa
Strongly opposing MGP’s support of the party and its induction in the Cabinet, some BJP MLAs, including Babush Monserrate, Govind Gaude, Ravi Naik, decided to oppose the induction of former deputy Chief Minister Sudin Dhavalikar into the Cabinet.
“We just came here to have dinner and celebrate the party’s victory; there was no discussion on MGP,” said Ravi Naik.
While, Babush Monserrate, Govind Gaude refused to speak to the media on the subject.
Later in the night, all the MLAs also reached the Chief Minister’s official residence expressed their displeasure over the decision to accommodate MGP in the ministry.
A few party leaders do not support MGP’s possible induction in the government where BJP is leading with 50 per cent of total seats.
On the other hand, the MGP leaders have claimed that they were approached by the BJP Central leaders for their support in the government formation.
BJP block in Marcaim has also demanded that Sudin Dhavalikar should not be inducted in the Cabinet and that the party does not need the support of MGP.
BJP block president Sagar Mulvi had said that Dhavalikar has always indulged in politics and played games for his selfish interest.
