MARGAO: Damodar Shirodkar withdrew his earlier declaration that he would step down from his position as chairperson of the Margao Municipal Council (MMC) a day after making it.
It should be recalled that Shirodkar stated on Saturday that he was extremely upset by Digambar Kamat, a legislator from Margao, and other BJP officials for not having faith in him about crucial MMC issues.
Shirodkar stated on Sunday, “The legislator met with me this afternoon and we addressed the subject in depth; the situation has now been resolved. As the matter has been handled, he declared, “I am not retiring at this time.
The MMC CP and the Margao legislator, according to MMC sources, were furious when the government called off the hiring process for the positions of LDC, assistant mason, and laborers in the municipality.
After the Urban Development Minister posted a notice, the directive to halt the hiring process was given.
Digambar Kamat responded when reached with the statement, “We discussed today and the issue has been resolved. There had been a miscommunication of some sort. Today, it was resolved.
The Margao MP and the MMC chairperson, according to the opposition council members, reportedly staged a scenario in order to resolve some disputes inside the party.
