MARGAO: Margao Police has Regis FIR against a British national for cheating a Navelim-based resident to the tune of Rs 1.75 lakhs.
As per information, the accused British National has been identified as William Jackson.
Police say that the British national allegedly cheated Muriel Vaz r/o Ratwado, Navelim, to the tune of Rs 1.75 lakh.
Further, the police said that the accused befriended her on social media and, on the pretext of providing her clerical job in the United Kingdom, asked her to deposit money in various bank accounts.
The accused said that the accused further failed to provide her job and never returned her money.
