PANAJI: Valpoi MLA Vishwajit Rane said that the estimate of the new Paikul bridge has now gone up from seven and a half crore to twelve and a half crore due to an increase in height.
Rane said that the same has been approved and will be tendered next week.
“The estimate of the bridge has now gone up from seven & a half crore to twelve & a half crore due to increase in height. Sidewalks will also be added to the bridge. The same has been approved and will be tendered next week,” said Rane.
Rane informed that the bridge will be completed in the next 9-12 months.
He further said that the washing away of the bridge due to the recent flood, the pipeline has been affected which is connected to the water treatment plant, commissioned by him for the people of that village.
“Work to restore water supply has already begun on a high priority basis. We intend to finish the project before Ganesh Chaturthi. The pipeline will be moved underground, which was earlier over the bridge,” he added.
