PONDA: The day after stating that he was ready for alliance with Bharatiya Janata Party only if they gave us 12 seats, Marcaim’s MLA Sudin Dhavalikar said he was misquoted, and alliance with BJP would be a “suicide”.
Speaking to reporters in Ponda, Dhavalikar said he was misquoted by the media and has no intention of aligning with BJP as they have insulted them three times.
“There is no question of forming alliance with BJP. I was misquoted by the media on the alliance,” he said.
He said forming alliance with BJP is like committing suicide.
He Clarified that MGP will not form any alliance with BJP in upcoming assembly election.
After outright rejecting the idea of the BJP-MGP pre-poll alliance several times in the past, MGP chief Sudin Dhavalikar on Sunday showed a willingness to forge alliance with Bharatiya Janata Party for the forthcoming assembly elections.
However, Dhavalikar has said that the alliance discussion is possible only if the BJP agrees to share 12 constituencies with MGP. Interestingly, Dhavaikar’s statement came one day before the scheduled visit of BJP leader and Union minister Nitin Gadkari, who has a good personal equation with Dhavalikar.
