PANAJI: Consul General, Norway Arne Jan Flolo today held a meeting with the Minister for Environment Aleixo Sequeira wherein the duo discussed strengthening of ties between Norway and Goa Government on various aspects of Environmental technologies.
Arne Jan Flolo during the meeting held at the Mantralaya, Porvorim shared that, the Norwegian Government had an association with the State Government in the field of waste management.
Earlier Norway extended its technological support to Goa State Pollution Control Board and Goa State Waste Management Corporation in the sector of waste management.
Flolo informed that the Government of Norway is very much keen on enhancing its association with Goa with respect to sharing technologies to reduce pollution and environmental problems in the State.
Minister Aleixo Sequeira appreciated the various projects implemented by the Norwegian Government to curb the menace of pollution.
Discussion held on varied aspects of pollution, plastic waste management, and ideas of solutions to the issues were found very impressive, he said.
Consul General Flolo was accompanied by the Director, Public Affairs of Tomra Systems ASA Smt. Gargi Pareek. Secretary, Environment Arun Kumar Mishra, IAS and Senior Environmental Engineer, GSPCB Sanjeev Joglekar were present on the occasion.
