“A person duped to the tune of Rs 2.30 lakh by unidentified cyber criminals on the pretext of linking PAN card to Aadhar card. We are looking into the complaint,” said police sources
Cyber Crime police have registered 49 cases in the year 2022, of which 17 cases have been detected, and 27 arrests have been made so far.
SP Valsan said, “The cybercriminals are defrauding several persons who are less cyber literate. The accused impersonate themselves while talking to victims.”
“Geographical anonymity and those staying out of India make it very difficult to track and arrest criminals. However, our detection rate is 35 per cent, which is good compared to the overall rate of detection,” the SP added.
