PANAJI: Old Goa Police Station on 13/10/2024 arrested an interstate notorious House Breaking Thief from the Kavte Mahakal area of Maharashtra in a joint operation with Kavate Mahakal Police Station
That on 28/09/2024, the offence was registered upon complaint of Mrs Seema Singh, w/o- Mr Bajra Nath Singh, Age- 50 years, r/o- Flat No 404, G-wing, Phase II, of SFX colony at Ella Old Goa, against unknown person for effecting entry into the flat of the complainant friend by break opening and committed theft Rs. 3000/- approx and other valuables
In this connection registered Old Goa P.S offence vide Cr no 95/2024, u/s 305 of BNS.
During the course of the investigation, through meticulous approach and intelligence sources, the accused person was identified as Mr. Lokesh s/o Raosaheb Suthar, age 30 yrs, occ- nil, R/o Khatau road, Lingnoor, Miraj, Sangli, Maharashtra.
A further team of Old Goa Police Station visited Miraj, Sangli, and other parts of Maharashtra, 3 times in short intervals and with the help of Kavate Mahakal Police Station and Sangli Gramin police station staff traced the accused person namely Lokesh s/o Raosaheb Suthar. Further, he was brought to Old Goa police station and placed under arrest in Old Goa police station Cr no 95/2024, u/s 305 of BNS.
During the interrogation accused Lokesh s/o Raosaheb Suthar confessed commission of another day HBT. Accordingly, he was placed under arrest in Old Goa PS Crime No. 102/2024 U/s 331(1) 305, 324(2) B.N.S. on 13/10/2024 and further investigation in the case is in progress.
The accused Lokesh s/o Raosaheb Suthar is wanted in various HBT offences in the state of Maharashtra at Ratnagiri, Pune, etc and is previously involved and now wanted in around 100 cases across the state of Maharashtra.
The timely coordination between District SP North Goa and District SP Sangli Maharashtra was the important turning point in catching this long-absconding accused
Later accused made efforts to prevent his arrest in another case by pretending to have epilepsy attacks( fiits ) and pretending to be mentally ill. But he was certified to be fit at GMC and IPHB
Further investigation is in progress at Old Goa Police with Sub Inspectors under the Police Inspector, Old Goa PS. The investigation is being supervised by SDPO Panaji and SP North Akshat Kaushal, IPS
