PANAJI: Enforcement agencies have seized cash, liquor, drugs and freebies worth Rs 10.13 crore while carrying out election surveillance in Goa, so far.
Electoral Officer (CEO) Kunal said that cash of Rs 6.30 crore is seized till now.
He said that this includes the recent seizure by the Income Tax Department in Margao.
He also said that liquor worth Rs 2.44 crore, drugs around Rs 1.06 crore and some precious metals and freebies are included.
Kunal informed about the modified guidelines issued by the ECI with regards to election campaign.
“We are also monitoring the COVID-19 situation in the State,” Kunal said adding that there is substantial decline in positivity rate and active covid cases in the State.
So far, on C-Vigil, a total o 398 poll violation complaints were received of which 253 were found to be correct while 38 FIRs have been registered, he said.
CEO warned to take action against the government servants, if found, campaigning for any candidate or political parties during the process.
He further said that Post final publication of electoral roll on January 5, 9,361 more names have been included into the electoral roll. With inclusion of this, the total electorates stands at 11,64,224.
