PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that the people of Goa won’t be manipulated by those who are motivated to create political and communal disturbances.
Sawant also said that Uniform Civil Code must be followed across the nation.
“People of Goa won’t be manipulated by those who are motivated to create political and communal disturbances; Communal harmony of Goa will not be disturbed,” said CM Sawant.
He further said that Goa has always had communal harmony; there has been the same brotherhood since 1961.
“People need to know about the history of Goa; the new education policy must focus on the country’s history,” he said.
Speaking further, Sawant said that each person must protect their own faith, but that doesn’t mean other religions should be attacked.
Sawant said that his first priority will be employment generation and, in turn, generate and create new employment opportunities across Goa through the government sector or the private sector.
“Second is our infrastructure. Since 2014, thanks to the double engine government and PM Modi, we could achieve what hadn’t happened in the last 50 years. This includes infrastructure in tourism, health sector, roads,” he added.
The Chief Minister also said that Goa has a good start-up policy; Atal incubation centres provide a boost to startups in Goa.
