PONDA: Ponda Education Society’s College has been honoured with a NAAC A+ grade.
PES’s Ravi S. Naik College of Arts & Science, Farmagudi, Ponda, has become the first College in Goa to get a NAAC A+ grade with a 3.47 CGPA score on a 4-point scale.
In a function held at the Farmagudi Agriculture Minister appreciated college teaching staff, students and employees for the great honour and achievement. He felicitated the Principal and Teaching Staff on behalf of the College. He said when all the teachers, students, and employees work towards one goal as a team, such success can be achieved.
National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) was established by the UGC to evaluate the performance of the Universities and Colleges in the Country.
The NAAC Peer team consisting of expert Professors visited the College on March 24 and 25 and assessed the College for the 3rd consecutive cycle of NAAC. The College was evaluated on the seven criteria: academic contributions, teaching, learning, research and infrastructure. The management, faculty, administration and students worked meticulously over the last year preparing for the NAAC accreditation process.
Principal of College Vikas Pisurlekar said during its NAAC endeavour, the College was proactively supported by its management under the leadership of Ravi S. Naik, who is President of Ponda Education Society and Minister for Agriculture, Handicrafts and Civil Supplies, Directorate of Higher Education, Govt. of Goa and Goa University. The Peer Team also interacted with the members of IQAC, Alumni, PTA, teaching and non-teaching staff, students and parents for the assessment.
This success was achieved in the third cycle of consecutive assessments, while earlier in 2015, in the second assessment cycle, 2015 with a B grade.
On occasion, teachers and principals from various colleges in Goa were present for the function. On the dais were Management Committee Member Ritesh Naik, Principal Vikas Pissurlekar, GU Registrar V S Nadakarni, Director of Higher Education Prasad Lolyekar, former Principal Arun Heblekar, Anil Dinge, and dignitaries were present.
