AGACAIM: A 24-year-old man died after an Activa scooter met with a self-accident near the New Zuari bridge on November 5, 2026.
According to Agacaim Police, the accident occurred when the scooter, bearing registration number GA-03-AU-9390, was proceeding from Cortalim towards Bambolim.
The complaint was lodged by Head Constable Sudesh Dhaku Mangadkar of Agacaim Police Station. The scooter was allegedly being ridden by Shitambar Bhuson Das, 21, who was proceeding without a valid driving licence and allegedly rode in a rash and negligent manner.
On reaching near the New Zuari bridge, the scooter reportedly skidded, causing the pillion rider, identified as Ujjal Sanjoy Das, 24, a resident of Mercurim, Agacaim, to fall on the road and sustain grievous injuries.
The injured man was immediately shifted to Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC), Bambolim, for treatment. However, he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing medical treatment.
The case was registered at Agacaim Police Station on November 5, 2026, at 5.44 pm.
Further investigation is in progress under the supervision of LPSI Deepika Parwar of Agacaim Police Station.
