PORVORIM: IT Minister Rohan Khaunte today said that he plans to bring Goa under the top 25 start-up destinations in Asia by 2025.
“Our plan is to bring Goa under the top 25 start-up destinations in Asia by the year 2025. We are going to see a lot of changes in the ecosystem. We are in the mode of scanning a lot of thoughts,” said Khaunte
He further said that in the months to come, we would see a lot of deliverables. Also, the start-up cell is going through small tweaking and changes.
“States have to built-up; we are working for employment generation; COVID has also helped us think a lot with the thought process,” he added.
Speaking in the tourism sector, Khaunte said that Goa is looking for high spending tourists who can contribute to the state’s economy.
“Goa is looking for high spending tourists who can contribute to the state’s economy. Such type of infrastructure should be created for such high spending tourists,” he said.
The minister said that the Beach Vigil App launched today will help report various cases of touts, illegal hawkers, massages on the beach and cleanliness on the beach.
“We are in the process of finalising an integrated plan for the beach cleaning,” he added.
He said that through this app, Police, Shack owners, and Drishti could report offences in Phase 1. In Phase 2, this app will be available for citizens who can report the crime.
“Tourism is the main vertical in terms of revenue for Goa,” he added.
