CANACONA:Villagers at the Gramsabha of Poinguinim, have demanded action against an illegal construction erected by a Swamiji in Ope in Sadolxem area of the village of Poinguinim.
‘A migrant here has done a lot of hill cutting and felling of trees at Ope in Sadolxem. No license has been taken from the Panchayat or the concerned department in this regard’ informed Sarpanch Savita Tawadkar, further stating that Sadolxem panch Shilpa Prabhugaonkar and another rulling Panch member Mahesh Naik has intimated this to the panchayat body.
‘ A written notice was issued to the person responsible for this illegal construction’, Tawadkar told at the gramsabha on Sunday.
After that, most of the villagers erupted together and demanded that a complaint should be registered and action should be taken in the matter.
‘Sarpanch, other Panch members and Panchayat Secretary inspected the place after Mrs. Prabhugaokar, Panch member of Sadolsxem ward, gave information about this. At this time, it was pointed out that a large amount of trees have been felled at that place and a road has been created by cutting the hill’.
Pradeep Mokhardkar, Deepak Naik, Ajit Painginkar and other villagers demanded that if they (the people engaged in illegalities) do not give proper answers to the written notice of the panchayat, then legal action should be taken against them and no any No Objection Certificate (NOC)+ should be issued for electricity and water connections to the said construction.
Dy. Sarpanch Sunil Paingankar, Panch Mahesh Naik, Satish Painginkar, Shilpa Prabhugaokar, Praveer Bhandari, Asmita Joshi, John Barreto, Rasika Velip and Panchayat Secretary Rajeev Naik Gaonkar were present.
