Earlier, there was a controversy over the worship of Sakhaleshwar, the guardian deity of Shri Bhumika Devi Temple.
On Sunday (December 22), the people of the Gaonkar community in Parye met Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant directly regarding the dispute over the temple at Parye Sattari and presented their problem.
After listening to their side, the people of the Gaonkar community said that the Chief Minister had also assured that everything would be settled legally through the District Collector.
Earlier, prohibitory orders were clamped after this, restricting the gathering of more than five persons and the temple was shut till December 24.
A police complaint was also lodged by the deputy collector and sub-divisional magistrate against four persons along with other villagers for performing pooja at Sakhaleshwar Devasthan, thereby violating the order dated December 18.
