PANAJI: Mopa Airport Police have registered an offence against a 44-year-old Jaipur resident after a prohibited Trimble GPS device was detected in his baggage during security screening at Manohar International Airport on August 18.
According to the complaint filed by CISF personnel Shantanu Pramanick, the passenger, identified as Kailash Chand Yadav, was scheduled to travel to Delhi on Air India Express flight IX-1490, which was scheduled to depart at 3.05 pm.
At around 1.50 pm, during screening at the Domestic Security Hold Area, the ATRS-G system allegedly detected a Trimble GPS device in Yadav’s baggage.
Police said the device is prohibited in India and that Yadav could not produce any licence or permission from the competent authority for possessing it.
Yadav was summoned and served notice under Section 35(3) of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) on August 19.
The case was subsequently charge-sheeted on August 20 vide Charge Sheet No. 29/2026 and is pending trial before the JMFC, Pernem.
