PANAJI: Public Works Department (PWD) has informed that generated revenue of Rs 685 lakhs through its One Time Settlement (OTS) Scheme.
“The scheme was launched in January 1 and as of now PWD has generated revenue of Rs 685 lakhs. The Total number of Beneficiaries in the State is 2426 Nos,” said PWD Minister Deepak Pauskar
He further said that is no loss to Government, however the applicant who have availed OTS are benefitted. It has helped in clearing many pending disputes.
“Paying of water bills regularly is mandatory for each consumer to avoid levy of delayed payment charges,”he added
After success of the Power OTS scheme wherein large number of people opted for the scheme bringing in large sums to the State treasury, the government has now introduced the similar scheme for water consumers.
The scheme was made applicable to defaulted consumers whose cases are referred to the revenue recovery Court as on October 31, 2020 and also consumers whose installations are temporarily disconnected/permanently disconnected as on October 31, 2020, for non-payment of outstanding arrears, the notification said.
