PANAJI: BJP leader and Ponda MLA Ravi Naik said that many leaders, including him, have opposed taking support of MGP to form the state government.
“During the meeting yesterday, five leaders, including him, objected to taking support of MGP to form the new government, claiming that they already had the support of 3 independents,” said Naik speaking to media after the BJP meet.
He further said that BJP already has the support of 3 independents, which takes the BJP to 23, and there is no need for the MGP.
Dabolim BJP Leader Mauvin Godinho said that MGP had worked against the BJP in these elections, and I am completely against their support to form the next government.
“It looks like BJP is patronising the MGP is we make them a part of our next government in Goa,” he said.
MGP leader Sudin Dhavalikar had said that his party would decide its stand after the Goa election results by taking the ally Trinamool Congress in confidence but will “never support” Pramod Sawant as chief minister.
It can be recalled that Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant had sacked MGP ministers from his cabinet.
Dhavalikar has repeatedly said earlier that the party will not support the BJP under Sawant’s leadership.
