CANACONA: Ravindra Kelekar Dyanmandir won State level inter-school quiz competition ornaganised by Goemkar Ek Paavl Ekcharachem on “Valmiki’s Vision: A Journey Through Goa’s Heritage”.
The participants first underwent a written test, which culminated in the selection of the top three winners: First Prize: Ravindra Kelekar Dyanmandir, Second Prize: Bhatikar model High school and Third Prize: St.Brito High School Mapusa
The one –type of initiative aimed to celebrate and carry forward the legacy of the late Mr. Valmiki Faleiro, a distinguished historian and author who extensively wrote about Goa’s defences, its liberation, and its heritage.
The competition saw an overwhelming response, with 120 school groups from across Goa participating. Out of these, 80 teams advanced to the main event held on Monday at the Conference Hall, Ravindra Bhavan, Margao.
The event was graced by Vijai Sardesai, President of Goa Forward Party, as the Chief Guest and Mrs. Debby Falerio, wife of the late Valmiki Faleiro, as the Guest of Honor. Their presence added prestige and significance to the occasion.
The program was ably hosted by Anish Agni and witnessed enthusiastic support from schools across the state.
The primary objective of this competition was to acquaint the younger generation with the works and contributions of Valmiki Faleiro. Through his writings, he chronicled Goa’s rich history, particularly its defences and liberation, inspiring Goans to take pride in their heritage.
The quiz was centered on his books and his unparalleled insights into Goa’s past.
