CALANGUTE: “Tarzan’s are fit only for the jungle,” they say, and one may opine how true the saying is when you look at the antecedents of this Goa’s Tarzan Parsekar, wanting to become a Don of North Goa coastal belt.
Interestingly, Tarzan has returned to Goa in the last 45 days after a 6-month externment by North Goa Collector.
However, the punishment seems to have served no purpose as he continues to follow the path of crime.
Tarzan, 36, a resident of Nagoa and his friends brutally attacked Calangute youth Ravi Shirodkar, who was critically injured and admitted to GMC.
The Goa Police are now moving to cancel the bail of Tarzan, a known history-sheeter.
Tarzan has been involved in at least 6 cases in Bardez since 2010 and has been acquitted in two so far.
SDPO Mapusa Jivba Dalvi said that the police are now moving for externment under National Security Act.
“He has several cases, and we will prepare a water-tight case against him this time. We will also move to cancel his bail,” Dalvi told Goemkarponn.
He has two cases under IPC 307 – Attempt to murder in 2010 and 2013; the Section is punishable by ten years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 50,000 payable to victims’ families.
He was also charged under section 134 r/w 34 IPC, Voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means, and punishable for six months in jail.
He has also been charged with section 427 – Criminal breach of trust by a carrier and Section 504 – Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace in 2013.
In 2021 he was charged with section 425 – voluntarily burns/ destroys valuable security belonging to someone else intending to cause wrongful loss and Section 507 (ii) – Sale of printed or engraved substance containing defamatory matter.
The same year he was also charged with Section & of Arms act – Prohibition of acquisition or possession, or of manufacture or sale of prohibited arms or prohibited ammunition and Section 326 IPC – Voluntarily causing grievous hurt by dangerous weapons or means, which carries imprisonment for Life or 10 Years + Fine. He also faces trial under section 435 – Mischief by fire or explosive substance with intent to cause damage.
