PORVORIM: The Revolutionary Goans Party (RGP) held an organisational meeting at Alto Porvorim Sports & Cultural Club on Sunday to review the party’s organisational strength and prepare for the 2027 Goa Assembly elections.
One of the key issues discussed during the meeting was the possibility of entering into an alliance. The party deliberated that any alliance decision should be guided by the interests of Goa and Goans, RGP’s core values, political clarity and organisational strength. The party leadership will continue consultations before arriving at a final decision.
Members also held a detailed discussion on Section 39A of the Goa Town & Country Planning Act. They were briefed on its provisions and implications, along with the need to increase public awareness and vigilance regarding land-use changes. The party reiterated its commitment to protecting Goa’s land, environment and natural resources.
The meeting also reviewed the party’s organisational structure, with emphasis on strengthening its grassroots network, expanding membership, improving constituency-level organisation and strengthening various organisational wings.
Several public issues concerning Goa were also discussed, including land, employment, tourism, water supply, electricity, environmental protection, governance and safeguarding Goan interests.
The party further deliberated on its roadmap for forming the next government in Goa. The proposed vision includes strengthening the state’s financial position, addressing its liabilities, improving governance and ensuring better public facilities and opportunities for Goenkars.
With the 2027 Assembly elections approaching, RGP resolved to strengthen its grassroots presence, expand its membership and build a disciplined, united and election-ready organisation across the state.
The party reiterated its commitment to Goa and Goans, particularly the protection of the state’s identity, land, culture, natural resources and future.
