VASCO: In response to concerns raised by local resident Pratap Mardolkar, the Sancoale Panchayat has taken swift action to inspect a hill-cutting site in the area. Mardolkar filed a complaint alleging that Narayan Datta Naik created a forged and fabricated document with the intent to cheat and misrepresent authorities in the transfer of house tax and illegal hill cutting.
Acting on this complaint, members of the Sancoale Panchayat, including ward councillor Derrick Vales and Deputy Sarpanch Girish Pillai, visited the site today. The officials assessed the situation firsthand and assured residents that appropriate action would be taken to address the illegal activities.
Speaking at the site, Deputy Sarpanch Girish Pillai emphasized the need to prevent any environmental hazards, drawing parallels to the recent disaster in Wayanad. “We are committed to ensuring the safety of our residents and preserving the environment,” Pillai stated. “Any illegal activities will be dealt with strictly.”
The Sancoale Panchayat has promised to follow up on this issue take necessary measures to prevent potential environmental damage and ensure that all development activities comply with the law. Further investigations into the alleged forged documents and misrepresentation will be carried out by relevant authorities.
