PANAJI: SARVAM, a leader in workplace safety and inclusivity consulting, released its white paper, “SARVAM’s Insights on POSH in 2024 at Goa,” at the Grand Asturi 2024 exhibition.
The white paper sheds light on the implementation of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013, in Goa, highlighting gaps and proposing strategies to build safer workplaces. SARVAM’s presence at Grand Asturi 2024, an initiative by GCCI’s Women’s Wing, focused on raising awareness beyond corporate settings, engaging the public, especially women, about workplace safety and their rights.
“While awareness of POSH is growing, there is still a significant gap in understanding and application,” said SARVAM Founder Mrs. Ashwini Patwardhan. “At SARVAM, we aim to turn compliance into a culture of respect by driving awareness among industries, organizations, and the wider society. This white paper is a step toward creating workplaces that are truly inclusive.”
Sulakshana Sawant appreciated SARVAM’s work, stating, “Team SARVAM’s efforts are commendable. Mrs. Patwardhan’s work in creating awareness and implementing safety measures is inspiring and crucial for Goa’s progress toward safer workplaces.”
Based on over 200 awareness sessions sensitizing 4,500+ individuals, the report reveals.
Awareness Gaps: 80% of participants viewed POSH training as a compliance formality, with limited understanding of its scope and provisions.
Barriers to Reporting: Fear of retaliation and stigma persist, preventing resolution of many complaints.
MSME Challenges: Smaller enterprises face challenges in implementing POSH measures due to limited resources and awareness.
