PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that there is no reason for members of the Christian community in Goa to migrate because they are already there.
He noted that some people are moving to nations in Europe and other continents in search of employment.
In response to a question, Sawant stated that he was pleased that since the state’s liberation from the Portuguese in 1961, the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) had been upheld in the coastal region.
“In terms of UCC, Goa is unquestionably an example for other states to follow. He continued by saying that other states must also implement the UCC,” he added.
