PONDA: The General Secretary of United Balarath (Union UBU) Shivkumar Naik demanded a hike in salary.
He hoped that the new government would solve their salary and service issue on humanitarian grounds.
Considering the rising inflation and high cost of living, they said their salary should be hiked, and so also other demands should be considered by the government.
Shivkumar said, “We have made our demands with government, and the three significant demands government should fulfill urgently is to increase their salary considering the high cost of inflation. Secondly, they should get 12 months salary as currently only a 10-month wage is paid to them and third primary demand is government should directly credit their monthly salary into their account as many management causes a lot of delay in payment of their monthly salaries for several months.”
He said they are struggling to meet the daily cost of living and feed their family on a poor salary. He said there was not much hike in their salary for twelve years after the inception of School Balarath Services by the Government. He said it feels like the government exploiting them by paying poor wages. The current meager salary paid to drivers are Rs 11000 and attendant get Rs 5500, and they are without any complaints with very much hope that one day they will be absorbed by the government. They got the meager rise in Salary after eight years was Rs 500 and Rs 1000 respectively for attendant and drivers and after that no hike which they feel great injustice.
Besides a hike in salaries with Rs 21000 thousand for Driver and Rs 16000.
