CALANGUTE: In a heated exchange of words, the Shivswarajya Committee and Calangute Sarpanch Joseph Sequeira engaged in a war of words regarding the Shivaji statue project.
The dispute arose when the Sarpanch accused the committee of spreading misinformation. The committee retaliated by suggesting that Sequeira should improve his command of the English language before making such allegations.
Sudesh Mayekar, in a separate statement, clarified that the committee’s intention was to defend their position and not to attack Sequeira personally. Mayekar stressed the need for clear communication and encouraged a more diplomatic approach to resolving the dispute.
While the Shivswarajya Committee and Calangute Sarpanch Joseph Sequeira may have different perspectives on the Shivaji statue project, it is clear that the statue has become an unexpected focal point in their ongoing exchange. The controversy underscores the importance of effective communication and respectful discourse in addressing contentious issues.
As the situation continues to unfold, it remains to be seen whether the Shivswarajya Committee and the Calangute Sarpanch can find common ground or if their dispute will escalate further. In the meantime, it is crucial for all parties involved to approach the matter with patience, open-mindedness, and a commitment to finding a mutually beneficial resolution.
