Few parts of Goa today received light to brisk rainfall for sometime bringing relief from the sultry and humid weather at the peak of summer.
As per IMD Light to Moderate Thunderstorms are very likely to affect isolated places over North & South Goa districts during the next 3-4 hours and the Light to moderate spells of rain is likely to be accompanied with thunder/lightning.
The IMD has advised people to take necessary precautions while venturing outdoors during these two days.
According to the meteorological department, light to moderate rain or thundershowers is very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of North Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada on March 9 and 10, followed by light thundershowers in North Konkan districts.
The districts of South Konkan-Goa and South Madhya Maharashtra will also see partly cloudy weather conditions that are very likely to prevail.
As a result, the region will witness a gradual fall in maximum temperatures by 2-3 deg C over parts during the next 3-4 days and rise thereafter during the subsequent two days. No large change in maximum temperatures over the Gujarat region during the next 4-5 days, said IMD.
The unseasonal showers, stormy weather with thunder, lightning and winds, coupled with hail lashed several parts of Maharashtra since midnight, inundating many low-lying areas and severely damaging standing crops.
