PANAJI: Superintendent of Police (IPS) Bosco George will now hold a charge as the new Inspector General of Goa Prisons.
George has also been given the additional charge of Deputy Inspector General of Police.
“Bosco George, IPS, Commandant IRB, shall also hold the charge of Inspector General of Prisons and shall look after the charge of the post of Deputy Inspector General of Police, in addition to his own duties until further orders,” the order states
George had earlier said that he had decided to hand over the security management of the jail to the police department. In the past, Civil Service officers were appointed as Inspector General of Prisons.
