PANAJI: To ensure conversation of Mangroves for environmental benefits, Forests Minister Vishwajit Rane said that his department will be hiring a special agency to audit the mangroves.
“To ensure conversation of Mangroves for environmental benefits, we are hiring a special agency to audit the mangroves,” said Rane
He further said that the agency along with Goa Forest Department will prepare a plan for maintenance of mangroves and work on conservation, protection and improve quality of mangroves.
“Mangroves are extremely important to our coastal ecosystems, we will work persistently to take all measures to protect and conserve them,” he added
The Minister had earlier said that stern action will be taken against defaulters, mangroves need to be protected at all costs and that state government would not allow any project that will destroy our Mangroves.
Rane also met former Minister Suresh Prabhu where they discussed possibility of hosting international events in Goa on climate change, biodiversity, and protection of Western Ghats.
“We spoke on biodiversity, climate change, Urban planning and a variety of international issues,” he said
Speaking on healthcare, Rane said that state government is determined to provide quality healthcare to our citizens and those in need and that the team is working relentlessly to bring in innovative healthcare services to the people of Goa at their doorstep.
